Motion of a charged particle in a uniform field
Throw an electron into this uniform field and what do you get?
The electron experiences a constant force upwards due to the field. This results in projectile motion - it's exactly the same as throwing a stone off a cliff in a uniform gravitational field except here the electron goes up not down.
Refer back to the section on projectile motion to work this out but remember, projectiles experience:-
- constant horizontal velocity
- constant vertical acceleration
